BMC-84 Surety Bonds
BMC-84 surety bonds — also referred to as freight broker bonds, property broker bonds, Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) bonds, or transportation broker bonds — are a type of license and permit bond required by the FMCSA for all freight brokers and forwarders. Checkers helps freight brokers file and maintain their BMC-84 compliance.
Non-Trucking Liability (NTL)
Non-Trucking Liability provides coverage to protect permanently leased owner-operators — commonly referred to as Independent Contractors — against liability claims that occur when operating the vehicle for personal or non-business use. Coverage is provided when the commercial vehicle is not furthering the business of the motor carrier. The return trip is considered within the dispatch loop.
General Liability
Coverage for the insured's liability from bodily injury or property damage to others arising from the insured's premises operations, products, and completed operations. We offer Truckers GL 99793, Brokers GL 61224, and Appliances & Accessories GL 91155.
Contingent Cargo
This coverage is for freight brokers and forwarders who negotiate contracts for the transportation of goods. It may protect them if a claim is made by the shipper for damage to the cargo they arranged transportation for — even though the broker didn't physically touch the freight.
Contingent Auto Liability
Coverage for freight brokers who do not own a vehicle but broker loads to truckers. This is essentially non-owned auto liability coverage that protects the broker if the carrier they hired causes an accident.
